Baby #2 is Due!!
We have some pretty exciting news to share…we are expecting baby #2!!
Andrew and I have always (and I mean ALWAYS! Like before we even dated) wanted a family! Being a mom and dad has been our goal and dream for as long as I can remember. Neither of us went to college, but instead got married young and skipped that stage of life. We didn’t know what career path we wanted, degree or title but the one thing we knew for certain was that someday we wanted a big family!
When we were faced with unexplainable fertility issues our dream suddenly seemed endangered and I feared I’d never get the one job title I always wanted: mom. We lost our first baby and my left Fallopian tube due to an ectopic pregnancy, but God was gracious to us and sent Tobias not long after!
Fast forward to when Tobias turned a year old and we were ready to expand our family! Would it take as long as before? Would we have the same issues? Would we be able to have more biological kids? These were all questions that we asked ourselves and brought to our Heavenly Father in prayer.
As Tobias slowly decreased nursing, my body found consistency and we were able to keep track of certain days and try for another baby! It wasn’t long until I was a day late…
Whether you are a woman TTC (trying to conceive) or not, I think it’s safe to say that most married women have taken a pregnancy test at some point in time. I however wish I had invested stock in those little sticks that give a yes or no answer! In other words, I have taken so many over time that there’s no way of keeping track! Enough negative results that sadly, it’s become what I expect.
So on June 7th when I took a pregnancy test, you better believe I sat staring at it for a good minute before it’s results registered and hit me! And oh how they hit me! Uncontrollable sobs shook my entire body as I thanked God for another miracle!
That night was a beautifully pleasant evening so Tobias and I waited in our hammock for Andrew to return from work! Andrew joined me in the hammock when he got home and I told him the three words I had been dying to tell him all day, “we are pregnant!”
As the hammock slowly swayed his face broke into a little grin and he turned and asked, “How do you know?” After he heard about the test the grin was replaced by a broad smile and a look of contentment. He looked back over at me and said, “I’m so happy!”
So here we are, by God’s grace living out our dream despite the road bumps and delays! We couldn’t be more excited to add another little baby to our family and see Tobias be a big brother!
