Welcome to Oakland Acres!

Having a blog was never something that I imagined I would do, and yet here I am writing my first post! Eeek!

There are several reasons why I didn’t want to hop on the bandwagon. The first one being I am terrible (and I mean TERRIBLE) with computers, the internet, and anything that has to do with electronics and technology. The second reason was that I didn’t want to seem like another famous blogger wannabe! My last reason was that I didn’t (and still don’t) want social media of any sort to take over my real life.

So why did I decide to give in despite my good reasons? In short, I have started to see blogging in a new light. Not only can it be a great way to document my family, events, and life, but it can also be a way to encourage, challenge, and uplift others. There are a few bloggers that have done just that for me whether they will ever know it or not and I hope in time I can do the same for someone who stumbles upon my page! As for being completely inept when it comes to computers, technology and anything blogging…well let’s just say I’ve accepted the challenge to try and grow in this area of my life!

With that being said, in the famous words of Theoden King of Rohan,

“So it begins!”
